Zoom fatigue is real.

The productivity gains we saw when everyone started working from home are now slowing.

With the need to jump on a call for every little thing productivity has dropped.

Everyone's calendars are packed with meetings. Even the sacred lunchtime is now eaten up(pun intended) by Teams and Zoom calls.

With so many meetings spread throughout the day, it's hard to keep track of everything. With this problem in mind, I went in search of an app that could help.

In my search, I came across MeetingBar.

MeetingBar is a free Mac-only application.

Functionalities

Set-Up

Meetingbar integrates with all your calendars (Google, Outlook, etc). It’s simple to set up and a fairly lightweight app that stays in your status bar.

Install it from the App Store and add the calendar you want to manage with MeetingBar.

View list of meetings:

Since it’s in the status bar, it’s very easy to see what meetings are coming up from any screen or app running on your Mac.

As you can see in the screenshot below, I can quickly see at a glance what meetings are pending throughout the day without having to go to Outlook and check the calendar.

Attend a meeting:

With just one click, you can join a meeting. You simply click on the meeting you want to join and it will open Teams or Zoom.

Create a meeting:

Creating meetings is also a breeze with MeetingBar. All you have to do is click “Create Meeting” and it will open Teams, where you add the invitees and click “Send”.

Conclusion:

I believe in the mantra of simplicity and minimal product design.

MeetingBar fits perfectly into that philosophy.

They didn’t add features just for the sake of adding them.

It does few things and does it well.

I highly recommend this app to all Mac users. It’s a really useful app, especially in this day and age where our workday is full of meetings.

Thanks for reading.
